Frame Projects has worked for several years with the Greater London Authority (GLA) Good Growth by Design team. This has involved facilitating workshops with key staff responsible for commissioning design across GLA organisations. Participants included two Mayoral Development Corporations, Transport for London, Places for London, GLA Housing and Land and GLA Regeneration. This process has led to the co-creation of design quality management protocols with input from Mayor’s Design Advocates.

Outputs also include two internal Commissioning Quality reports. These made recommendations for managing design quality on projects delivered or funded by the GLA in four categories: culture and people; governance and scrutiny; standards; suppliers and procurement. The intention is for the design quality management protocols to be regularly refreshed, and for this process to enable best practice and lessons learned to be shared across GLA organisations.
