Frame Projects has a reputation for bringing people together to find solutions to complex design challenges. This background, alongside our access to over 400 multidisciplinary experts, means we are regularly asked to assist with design-based training for our clients. The planning authorities and organisations we work with have found this helpful for building in-house design capacity and improving confidence in decision making. Training empowers those having design conversations to advocate effectively for higher quality outputs that will better meet the needs of the place and its community, while remaining proportionate.

Panel members with specific expertise have supported Frame Projects in providing a range of training opportunities over the years.

In person or online workshops have covered themes such as:

  • low and zero carbon design

  • inclusive design

  • delivering design quality in areas of low land values

  • low-rise high-density development

  • design codes

  • small sites and infill development

  • gender inclusive design

  • child friendly places

We have also arranged several site visits to high-quality completed schemes that demonstrate what is achievable in a variety of contexts. These usually involve tours of the schemes by the original project team, providing a unique opportunity to hear first-hand how design challenges have been navigated and overcome.
